The Facade

Spanning 7 Storeys high the brilliant coloured glass facade at the entrance to the Alfred Hospital is an impressive sight. The transparent facade encloses a void inside the building that reaches from the foyer level to near the top of the building. From each floor of the hospital you can view the coloured glass panels that transmit a myriad of colours into the building. A simple but stunning design.

The Glass

A selection of bright coloured glass was chosen from the extensive range available from Axess Glass. The coloured glass panels are laminated in accordance with Australian Standards and provide a beautiful palette from which the architects can choose. The selection of the glass for this project was chosen for it unique light transmitting qualities. The strength of colour that is transmitted through the glass gives the internal space of the building tremendous life and energy.
