Dividing space with light and colour. |
Private
Residence - Melbourne
Stairwell Dividing Glass Screen Location: Melbourne CBD, Australia Architects: Warren J. Foster Glass Supplier: Axess Glass Products Australia The Feature Stairwell Inspired by European art and design this stained glass screen divides this city apartment, transcends two stories and fills the stairwell with light and colour. The screen finishes in the master bedroom and provides a stunning backdrop to the room. The Design and Construction Featuring a myriad of geometric proportions the screen was designed as a striking feature of the apartment. A selection of clear textured, translucent and coloured glass was chosen to suit the design. The variation in textures and colours are tied together with the unity of line and proportion within the design. The variety of glass chosen from the extensive Spectrum Glass range available through Axess Glass catches the eye and dances with the light transmitting through the screen. Each piece of glass sits inside a steel frame which makes up a panel and each panel sits inside a larger steel frame which make up the total screen. The panels were fabricated and installed by Boisdale Glassworks. Glass Specifications
